Greek startup aims to fill void left by withdrawal of Google Reader
Google's announcement that it will be discontinuing Google Reader,
its popular RSS feed reader, on July 1 has forced its users to look for
an alternative.
Greek technology startup NOOWIT says it has designed the “next generation of personalized news reader.” Like its predecessor, NOOWIT enables users to select and curate their own content. But co-founders Nikolaos Nanas, a researcher in adaptive information filtering, and Christos Spiliopoulos, an engineer and programmer, say that what sets their product apart is its combination of accuracy and design.

The unsung heroes of the medical profession
Olga Kesidou is an ear, nose and throat doctor with a private
practice. I spent quite a long time there during our interview and was
surprised to note that not a single patient walked through the doors.
The stereotype is that Greek doctors are corrupt money-grubbers who
demand a wad of cash to do their jobs and take kickbacks from
pharmaceuticals to promote their products.
