Marcie Mayer: the philhellene behind the Hamada Acorn Initiative (video)

Environmental activist and entrepreneur Marcie Mayer, gives a passionate talk about Hamada Acorn Initiative, a project that aims to restore acorn as an important product for the local economy of Kea.

She crowdsourced the initial funding for her Eating Acorns project on Kickstarter, where the campaign made its funding goal only within few days, and this year 40 families participated in the first large scale harvest of acorn caps since 1965.

Marcie Mayer argues that it's in our hands to have planned, balanced and sustainable uses for land. She suggests that we should see crisis as an opportunity for positive change.

All we need is planning, adaptability, acceptance and to search for the lesson, in each experience. These are the keys to face any setback.
