Hungarian Embassy to Athens Launches Tree-Planting Initiative

The Hungarian Embassy to Athens, the Association of Volunteers of Penteli and the municipality of Penteli co-organized a tree-planting initiative last Saturday to beautify the surrounding area of the Children’s Hospital of Mt. Penteli.

The initiative aimed at raising funds for the revitalization of the repeatedly burnt region. There were more than 200 attendees, including several Athens-based diplomatic officials and their families. The donations gathered equaled the planting of more than 1,000 saplings.

The Hungarian ambassador to Greece, Eszter Sandorfi, and Penteli Mayor Dimitris Stergiou-Kapsalis, expressed their common wish to expand the voluntary workings for the growth and protection of the “Forest of the Diplomatic Community.”
